As part of the Missouri Conference of the United Methodist Church, Aldersgate shares in the rich Wesleyan heritage of the Evangelical United Brethren Church and the Methodist Church who joined in 1968 to become the United Methodist Church. With an emphasis on personal piety and social justice, Methodism combines the heart and hands into a whole person of faith.

Our Mission & Vision

Jesus’ instructions to his disciples in Matthew 28, “Go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you,” (Mat 28:19) forms the basis of our mission statement. At Aldersgate, our mission is to reach out with the love of Christ, teach His word and transform the world by releasing devoted disciples into ministry.
Our vision is not to be the biggest church on the block or to have the highest steeple. We just want to love people the way Jesus loves, spreading light, truth, and grace in all of our words and deeds. We do this by meeting and ministering to people where they are and helping them grow in a relationship with Jesus to become fully devoted disciples.
